about

"Klangwolke" is a 12 minutes piece commissioned by More Ohr Less Festival in Baden bei Wien. It is based on a 12 minutes drone sound created by festival founder Hans-Joachim Roedelius and elements from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It was diffused live in July 2020 from Baden's beautiful Beethoven temple all over the city.
In order to make it more "digest" I cut the piece in 3 parts of approx. 4 minutes. To complete the Klangwolke I produced a revisited version of Beethoven's "Für Elise", based on a piano recording, which Roedelius recorded at his home in Baden (next to Beethoven-Platz!). As I take a lot of liberties from the original composition I call it "From Elise".
